SINGAPORE - Selected community clubs (CCs) will be showing SEA Games events, including the opening ceremony on Friday evening, and live screenings of sports events, the People's Association (PA) said.
Seven CCs will organise live screenings of the 28th SEA Games opening ceremony on Friday evening, and 10 will screen the sporting events.
They include CCs at Bishan, Buona Vista, Pek Kio and Tampines (see full lists below).
The CCs will organise games, and give out SEA Games souvenirs and prizes at the screenings, PA added.
Mr Michael Foo, director of community sports at PA, said: "The live football screenings previously organised were very well received and now the SEA Games provides another excellent platform for residents to experience other sports as well."
Since PA's partnership with Singtel TV began in January 2014, more than 620,000 residents have visited the CCs to watch live football screenings of the World Cup and Barclays Premier League, PA revealed.
Marine Parade resident Sean Kwek, 41, said: "I'm looking forward to watching our Singapore athletes in action in the various SEA Games competitions."
Ms Jennifer Ng, head of marketing for Singtel, said that Singtel's partnership with PA will continue for the next season of the Premier League in 2015/2016.
The schedule of screenings will be updated on the PA website (www.pa.gov.sg).
For viewers who want to catch the opening ceremony at home, the event will be telecast live on okto at 7.30pm on Friday (June 5).
Residents can also call their CCs for more information.
