SINGAPORE - The Republic's softballers lost both their SEA Games semi-finals against the Philippines at the Kallang Softball Field on Tuesday afternoon.

The men were defeated 8-0 in five innings, while the women lost 10-0 in four innings.

But for both teams, they are assured of at least a bronze as they finished in second place among five teams at the group stage.

The men will meet Indonesia, who trounced Malaysia 15-0 in three innings, for another shot at making the final on Wednesday.

The women's team will meet Thailand, who beat Indonesia 11-7 in seven innings, to try again to reach the gold medal match.
