SEA Games: Singapore clinch silver in mixed team wakeboard competition

SINGAPORE - The Singapore wakeboard team concluded their SEA Games campaign with a silver medal in the mixed team wakeboard event on Sunday.

In this competition, the men and women will compete among themselves respectively for a placing. Each placing will contribute a certain number of points. The mixed wakeboard team score is then calculated by adding the points earned by the women riders and the men riders.

Sasha Christian finished first, while Games debutant Gooi Jia Yi finished fourth in the women's category. They earned a total of 155 points.

In the men's category, Samuel Chua and Joshua Tay finished fourth and fifth respectively to earn 100 points.

With 255 points, Singapore finished second behind Thailand, who had 325 points. Representing Thailand in the mixed wakeboard event were Tatsanai Kuakoonrat, Padiwat Jaemjan, Saitip Lara Rotrakan and Panyapa Tangsirirat.

Philippines won the bronze medal with 140 points.
