The SEA Games cauldron will not be lit until three more days, but Team Singapore's campaign could be ignited tonight - starting with two golds medals in table tennis.

National paddlers are on course for an all-Singapore final in both the men's and women's doubles events, and could secure two titles by Tuesday night when the finals are scheduled at the Singapore Indoor Stadium (7pm and 7.50pm).

But Feng Tianwei and Co will first have to negotiate past the semi-finals in the afternoon. Feng and Yu Mengyu are scheduled to meet Malaysia's Ho Ying and Lee Rou You, while Lin Ye and Zhou Yihan will play Nanthana Komwong and Suthasini Sawettabut of Thailand.

In the men's doubles semi-finals, Gao Ning and Li Hu will play Vietnam's Tran Tuan uynh and Nguyen Anh Tu while Chen Feng and Clarence Chew will meet Thais Padasak Tanviriyavechakul and Chanakarn Udomsilp.

Round robin matches for the singles events will also begin on Tuesday, with Isabelle Li, Feng, Chew and Gao pencilled in.

The table tennis team are gunning for a clean sweep of all seven medals on offer.
