Mok Ying Ren has emerged victorious in the SEA Games men's marathon on Monday - becoming the first Singaporean man to do so.

Finishing at the Wunna Theikdi Stadium in Naypyidaw, he timed 2hr 28min 35sec for the gold.

In second place is Aye Thuang of Myanmar in 2:29:49 while Filipino Eric Panique, the 2011 silver-medallist, was third in 2:30:29.

The men completed five loops around a hilly course in chilly 17 deg C weather, before finishing in the stadium.
