SEA Games: Brunei netballers beat the Philippines 56-32

SINGAPORE - Brunei's netballers edged out the Philippines 56-32 in their final preliminary match of the SEA Games netball round-robin competition.

Brunei led by five points after the first half as the Philippines tried hard to earn their first win of the competition. However, they went on a scoring run in the third quarter, outscoring the Philippines by 13 points.

Brunei goal shooter Haji Abdul Sidek Nur Hafizah scored 30 goals, while goal attack Ahmad Siti Marhayat added 26.

The result means that Brunei are on the verge of qualifying for the semi-finals, while Myanmar, who have an inferior goal difference, have to beat Singapore later tonight by more than 10 goals to make the semi-finals.
