The captain of RVHS's boys team, Ng Zheng Teng, said: "We were playing in our first finals, so we just came with an open heart to feel the moment. Winning was not a must, but we put up a good fight."
The school's girls' team put up a strong showing against the RI girls, with three of the five ties going to three sets .
RI's clinched the win in the fourth tie, as their doubles pair of Charis Chan and Elisabeth Yaw beat RVHS's Neo Yi Fang and Clariis Woon 15-21, 21-15, 21-18.
The double title wins did not come as a surprise to RI's doubles coach Aman Santosa, who said: "The players have been working very hard for this, and I was confident we would secure both titles. The players did well."
