SINGAPORE - Both Crescent Girls' School and Raffles Institution (RI) basked in glory after they won the Schools National C Division hockey championships at Sengkang Hockey Stadium on Tuesday (Aug 16).

Crescent edged out CHIJ St Nicholas Girls' School on penalty flicks (1-0). Nothing could separate the two sides in full time, where it was 0-0, and extra time also saw no goals.

Centre midfielder Shaalini Subramaniam stepped up and scored the decisive stroke to give last year's losing finalists their first C Div title since 1994.

Similarly, defending champions RI were also locked in a tight affair with first-time finalists St Hilda's Secondary School but Muhammad Khairul's second-half strike was enough to give the Rafflesians the 1-0 win.

Northland Secondary School finished third, ahead of St Andrew's Secondary in the boys' division while defending champions Teck Whye took the girls' bronze. CHIJ St Theresa's Convent were fourth.
