Bukit Merah Secondary School (BMSS) emerged as the outstanding school in the Schools National Floorball Championships B Division finals at Bedok Sports Hall on Wednesday, with the girls' team retaining their title and the boys' team taking silver.

Up against St Margaret's Secondary School, the girls from BMSS dominated the game to win 13-2 and secured their third B Division title on the trot. Despite the defeat, it was St Margaret's best finish in the division so far.

BMSS' 16-year-old captain Shermaine Goh said: "The team played very well and put in a lot of effort today, and we hope that the success can be continued next year."

The boys from BMSS exceeded their aim of reaching the semi-finals by entering the final, but fell short against defending champions Northland Secondary School in their 10-5 defeat.

Northland's captain Muhamed Syahmi, 17, said of the victory: "It feels amazing because it is not easy to defend the title with other teams wanting to beat us more, but we managed to endure the challenges."
