School Sports: Anderson claims most medals among wushu powerhouses

The final day of the Schools National Wushu Championships on Thursday saw participants battling it out in 12 quanshu and weapon events across three age divisions.

Both Chung Cheng High School (Main) and Anderson Secondary School (ASS) fielded three gold-winning teams each, but ASS was the most consistent school with the most top-three finishes. It failed to win a medal only in the B Division girls' quanshu, and that was because it did not take part.

Said Sim Wilson, the 15-year-old Anderson captain: "All along, we've been performing well in wushu, so we naturally have a responsibility to maintain the seniors' standards. We trained a lot. For me, the team titles matter more, since we earned them through everyone's effort."

In the A Division, Victoria Junior College (VJC), defending champions in all four events, retained three but lost the boys' quanshu title to fierce rivals Hwa Chong Institution (HCI).
