School Sports: ACS (I) beat RI for first A Div cricket title since 2010

Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) beat three-time defending champions Raffles Institution by 18 runs to clinch the Schools National A Division Cricket championship at the Ceylon Sports Club on Monday.

This was their first title since 2010, when they beat RI in the final as well.

Batting first, ACS (I) reached 154-5 in 20 overs, with captain Archit Goenka leading the way with 48 runs from 32 balls.

RI, on the other hand, lost their first wicket even before they scored their first run, and eventually finished with 136-8.

"I think it was a very good performance from our team. Everyone contributed to the win, we got a good score and bowled well," said Archit, 18.
