Midfielder Royston Tan scored the goal for MJC, who have now won the division crown three years in a row. In the earlier play-off for third, Anglo-Chinese Junior College beat Raffles Institution (RI) 1-0 in their second win over RI this year. When the two teams met in the quarter-final round-robin group, it was RI's Jonathan Chua who earned the plaudits in a 3-1 defeat. With his team trailing, the striker rejected a penalty awarded to his team as he insisted no foul had been committed. It was an act of honesty that earned the 17-year-old widespread praise.
