SINGAPORE-Tanjong Katong Secondary School won the Schools National C Division girls floorball competition after cruising to a 6-2 victory over St Margaret's Secondary in the final at Yishun Sports Hall on Wednesday.

They had also beaten the same opponent 8-4 in the group stages of the competition and capped the campaign without defeat in 11 games.

Forward Glenna Tan opened the scoring for Tanjong Katong, before skipper Chan Shi Hui added a second to finish the first period 2-0.

The second period saw a similar run of play with forwards Sharifah Nadhrah and Mavis Ng scoring for Tanjong Katong to bring the score to 4-0.

Tanjong Katong started the third period in fine form, with both Shi Hui and Mavis scoring their second goal of the match. Forwards Nur Syakirah Rukaimi and Natalie Low netted the consolation goals for St Margaret's.

The C Division boys final saw Victoria School clinch the title after a convincing 9-1 win over Bedok South Secondary School. It is the fifth title for the school after its last triumph in 2012.

In a dominant display, Victoria raced to a 4-0 lead in the first period through goals from twin brothers Irfan Noor Isham and Ihsan Noor Isham (two) and Ammar Khairudin.

Bedok South stifled Victoria's forwards in the second period by pressing high up the court, limiting the champions to just a goal from Faez Nabil.

But Victoria came storming back in the final period with Ammar Khairudin scoring his second goal of the match. Darius Phua added a brace and Mikail Sumono Ramli scored Victoria's ninth goal. Bedok South scored a consolation through skipper Amos Pang.
