S-League: Evergreen Duric in running for S-League honours, ST story also nominated

He is the only footballer to win a hat-trick of S-League Player of the Year awards and now, Aleksandar Duric could bag his fourth.

The 43-year-old striker, who helped Tampines Rovers win the title this season, is nominated as the campaign's best player. Duric is also this year's top scorer with 15 goals. He will share the top scorer award with Woodlands Wellington's Moon Soon Ho.

Home United playmaker Lee Kwan Woo, Geylang United's dynamic midfielder Jozef Kaplan, Tanjong Pagar United's clinical striker Monsef Zerka and Balestier Khalsa's commanding centre-back Paul Cunningham are the other nominees for the Player of the Year accolade.

Straits Times journalist Fabius Chen's feature on dedicated groundsman Lambri Moondari's efforts to keep Hougang Stadium's pitch in top condition for the past 27 years is nominated for the Story of the Year accolade.

The S-League awards will be held this Sunday at ITE College East.
