Rugby: Debutants Asia Pacific Dragons lift Ablitt Cup at SCC 7s

The Asia Pacific Dragons - first-time participants in the Singapore Cricket Club International Rugby sevens (SCC 7s) - lifted the Ablitt Cup on Sunday evening at the Padang with a 43-5 victory over the HSBC Penguins.

The final brought an end to the three-day rugby competition. East Arnhem Rugby and Western Province were the day's others victors, winning the Bowl and Plate competitions respectively.

In the schools and colleges competition, it was sweet revenge for Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) as they defeated arch-rivals St Andrew's Secondary (SAS) 19-7 in the Under-14 final. ACS (I) had lost to the Saints in the Schools National C Division rugby final earlier in August.

Tanglin Trust School won the U-16 competition after beating ACS (Barker Road) 21-5, while United World College Dover won the U-19 Cup after their 21-10 win over Raffles Institution.
