Paralympics: Yip Pin Xiu and Co. toasted at celebratory dinner hosted by Singapore embassy

RIO DE JANEIRO - They showed their sporting prowess in the pool, ball court, athletics arena and on the high seas.

After 10 days of intense competition at the Rio Paralympics, Team Singapore's athletes tucked into barbecued meat, cheese bread and toasted to Brazil's national cocktail caipirinhas on Sunday evening (Brazil time).

They joined 60 fellow Singaporeans in a celebratory dinner hosted by the Singapore embassy in Brasilia.

The Republic was represented by 13 athletes across six sports - the largest contingent Singapore has ever had at the quadrennial Games.

All its three medals have come from swimming - Yip Pin Xiu's two golds in the 100m and 50m backstroke S2 events, as well as veteran Theresa Goh's bronze in the 100m breaststroke SB4.
