Open-water swim a hit

A participant touching the finishing point banner as she completes her race at the first Liberty Insurance Open Water Swim at East Coast Park yesterday. More than 700 participants took part in four race categories - 4km, 2km, 1km and 1km team swim. Guest of honour and Speaker of Parliament Tan Chuan-Jin swam the 1km race and also flagged off the Wave Kids race, in which children aged between seven and 12 familiarised themselves with open-water conditions in a 100m swim.
