SINGAPORE - For the last two and a half weeks, the Olympics has gripped the world. And now, audiences will get to relive the top moments beyond the Rio Games with the launch of a brand-new Olympic Channel that will feature live sporting events and exclusive Olympic footage all year round.

The Olympic Channel, which was launched today (Aug 21) in a tie-up between the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and tyre manufacturers Bridgestone, will serve as a "one-stop shop for all Olympic content", according to Franco Annunziato, executive chairman of Bridgestone Asia.

Yesterday's launch of the web-based channel also featured the first of an eight-episode documentary series titled 'Against All Odds'. Each half-hour episode illustrating an athlete's trials and tribulations in their own Olympic journey.

Viewers can access the channel via a mobile app on Android and iOS platforms, the channel's website, as well as social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Snapchat.

There are also plans to develop localised versions of the Olympic Channel with language-specific user interfaces with broadcasters and National Olympic Committees.

"The core principles of Olympism - and the world's greatest athletes - should be celebrated every day of the year," said Annunziato.

"We are proud to help do that."
