OCBC Cycle has opened registration for the two corporate categories of the Aug 29-30 event on Monday, while announcing tie-ups with 17 corporate partners for the inaugural edition of the event.
A total of 1,000 slots have been made available for corporate riders, who can choose to participate in either the 23km The Straits Times Ride (300 slots) or 42km The Sportive Ride (700 slots).
The company whose participants clock up the most mileage after taking both ride categories into consideration will win the inaugural OCBC Cycle 2015 Longest Distance Award. Corporations are required to register a minimum of 15 riders to be a part of the corporate rides. There will also be no event apparel provided for them.
Companies who wish to use the opportunity to do good can also choose to be a part of The Business Times Cycle of Hope Corporate Bike Ride, where more than half of their registration fees will be given to four chosen charity organisations - the Singapore Children's Society, SportCares, TRUEfund and BT Budding Artists Fund.
Companies can also choose to donate over and above their registration fees, and can stand to win the OCBC Cycle 2015 Largest Donor Award. They will receive event apparel.
Said Samuel Tsien, group chief executive of OCBC Bank: "Companies are always looking for healthy activities that can promote team bonding as well as CSR platforms through which they can engage the community and do good. With the OCBC Cycle 2015 corporate rides, companies can do 'all of the above'.
"We are grateful to have received overwhelming support from many organisations as we strive to create a premier cycling platform that is beyond just a weekend event."
Registration for corporate rides online at www.ocbccycle.com, and closes on May 31. Race categories for the general public will begin on March 9.
