New course, new challenge at HSBC Women's Champions

There will be no favourites at the HSBC Women's Champions golf tournament this week, as players come to terms with playing at the Sentosa Golf Club (SGC) for the first time.

Defending champion Angela Stanford spoke of the difficulty of getting accustomed to the Serapong course, which replaces the Garden course at Tanah Merah Country Club. The tournament had been held at Tanah Merah since 2008.

"I've just walked around the back and it's different - it's a new challenge but I'm looking forward to a great week," said the American, 35, during a press conference at SGC on Tuesday morning.

World No. 1 Tseng Ya-ni headlines the 63-strong field, which includes 38 of the top 40 LPGA money-list earners. The US$1.4 million (S$1.74 million) event tees off from Thursday to Sunday.
