SINGAPORE - Netball Singapore inducted three national players into the Netball Hall of Fame on Sunday. They are 33-year old Premila Hirubalan, 30-year old Micky Lin Qingyi and 30-year old Chen Huifen.

The trio join an exclusive club of only three other Hall of Famers, who were inducted in 2012.

Honoured based on their contributions to netball, the trio without a doubt ace that department with the title of Asian champions and SEA Games champions to their name.

Hirubalan leads the pack with 16 years of experience, the most active player on the national team. She also has 112 international caps, the most in Singapore's netball history.

Lin, the national captain for six years running, has represented Singapore since 2004 and has 97 international caps.

Chen has been the national vice-captain for four years and has 10 years of experience. She has also competed in all nine editions of the Nations Cup, an annual netball invitational that features countries from all over the world, including Canada and Ireland.

Ms Jessica Tan, Member of Parliament and president of Netball Singapore, said: "We have seen Huifen, Micky and Premila consistently exceeding expectations, pushing their limits and striving for, not just their personal best, but also for the team's.

"These three are role models, and a clear sign that Netball in Singapore is moving in the right direction.

"With this award, we celebrate their achievements and hope to inspire many other like-minded players to follow in their footsteps."

The Netball Singapore Awards Night also saw the Lee Foundation presenting a total of 83 monetary awards to members of the national age-group squads to assist with their 2016 school expenses. Those who have completed their studies received a gift voucher instead.

The foundation is a long-time supporter of Netball Singapore.

Meanwhile, tickets for the Mission Foods Nations Cup are available now and can be purchased online at www.apactix.com.
