Singapore - The Blaze Dolphins were crowned M1 Netball Super League 2016 champions on Saturday afternoon, beating the Sneakers Stingrays by a single point to win 50-49 in the grand final.
The Stingrays got off to a quick start in the first quarter, racing to an early lead of four points, with the scores at 13-9 in the Stingrays' favour after the first 15 minutes.
After the second quarter, the tables were turned, as the Dolphins put in a spirited performance and brought the scores level at 17 a piece, before overtaking the Stingrays to lead 26-22 at half time.
The Dolphins kept up the momentum for most of the third quarter, extending their lead to nine goals at one point. However, the Stingrays proved their mettle, scoring a series of goals to chip away at the Dolphins' lead. The third quarter ended 37-36 in the Dolphins' favour, setting up a nail-biting finish.
The Dolphins scored a last-gasp winner in the final quarter to seal the crown by a score of 50-49.
