National team and LionsXII skipper Shahril Ishak launches own line of merchandise

Shahril Ishak, named the 2012 Asean Footballer of the Year last month, has launched his own line of T-shirts.

The attacking midfielder, who captains the Singapore national team and the LionsXII side, will be selling 1,500 T-shirts, each costing $28, in three different designs emblazoned with his image and logo.

They will go on sale at Jalan Besar Stadium this Saturday when the LionsXII host T-Team in the Malaysian Super League.

Called "Thenumberseventeen" after Shahril's jersey number, the 29-year-old is the first local player to have his own line of merchandise since Fandi Ahmad two decades ago.

Shahril intends to unveil three more new designs at the next LionsXII home game, against PKNS on May 27.

Yet another new set of designs will be on sale for the remaining matches at Jalan Besar on June 22 (against Johor Darul Takzim) and July 2 (Felda United).
