PARIS (AFP) - Russian teenager Daniil Kvyat was named on Monday as Toro Rosso's replacement for Red Bull bound Australian Daniel Ricciardo for next season's Formula One campaign.
The 19-year-old Russian - has experience in GP3 and the European Championship Formula 3 series - will partner Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne at the sister stable of the all-conquering Red Bull team.
"This is wonderful news, a dream has become reality, and I thank both Red Bull and Toro Rosso for giving me this opportunity," said the Rome-based Kvyat.
Red Bull appointed Ricciardo in September as their second driver for next season - understudying three-time world champion German Sebastian Vettel - as his compatriot Mark Webber is quitting Formula One at the end of the season.
Toro Rosso have garnered 31 points this season in the constructors championship which sees them lying in eighth ahead of this weekend's Indian Grand Prix.
