National marathoner Mok Ying Ren has been announced as the new brand ambassador for isotonic sports drink 100Plus, in a tie-up between two familiar names in the local running scene.
As brand ambassador, the double SEA Games gold medallist will serve as 100Plus' representative at Singapore's major running events and feature in the brand's merchandise and marketing collaterals.
"Like myself, 100Plus has always been about the pursuit of excellence so that resonated with me," said Mok, who is managed by ONEathlete.
"It being a local sports beverage, there will be a lot of opportunities to work together going forward."
The 2013 SEA Games marathon champion will also be sharing his running expertise through a series of 100Plus-sponsored race clinics.
On Sunday, he will give a talk and conduct a 20-minute training session at Suntec City as part of The Straits Times Run's third and final running clinic.
"I believe in an active lifestyle and growing the running community here," said Mok, 29, who is currently juggling his work as an orthopaedic surgical resident with preparations for next month's SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur.
"From a medical perspective, running is a great and convenient activity people can get into and enjoy."
100Plus is produced by Fraser & Neave (F&N).
Said Jennifer See, general manager of F&N Foods: "As one of Singapore's most celebrated athletes, Mok's stellar achievements exemplify what 100Plus stands for.
"He is a shining example of Singapore's best in the sporting arena and is an inspiration not only to budding sportsmen and women but also to everyday fitness seekers."
