The Ultimate Fighting Championship's first live show in South-east Asia will be held on Jan 4 at Marina Bay Sands.

UFC Asia president Mark Fischer confirmed the date for the mixed martial arts event during a media briefing on Thursday afternoon.

The fight card and ticket details will be announced sometime in October.

Fischer said: "We'll bring some top stars and up-and-coming talent to provide some really exciting match-ups. Singapore will see a proper MMA event."
