Filipino featherweight Rolando "The Incredible" Dy will make his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut against veteran featherweight Alex "Bruce Leeroy" Caceres at Fight Night Singapore , the UFC announced earlier today.

Caceres was originally scheduled to take on Wang Guan in the bout, before the Chinese fighter had to pull out due to injury leading to Dy's inclusion.

It is a dream come true for the highly rated Filipino mixed martial arts (MMA) star, who has longed to compete in the UFC since his professional debut six years ago.

The son of Filipino boxing legend Rolando Navette, Dy unsurprisingly started off in the boxing ring before transitioning to the octagon.

The 25-year old's resume also includes Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai and wrestling.

Dy will be South-east Asia's sole representative at the tournament.

He joins a fight card featuring six other Asian stars, including "The Stun Gun" Dong Hyun Kim, former champion Takanori "The Fireball Kid" Gomi, and rising Japanese MMA superstar Ulka Sasaki.

The June 17 event at the Singapore Indoor Stadium marks UFC's second fight night in Singapore, following their first show held at the Marina Bay Sands three years ago.

The main event will see Holly Holm fight Bethe Correia in the women's bantamweight category.
