The SEA Games look set to be belatedly held in Hanoi next year, despite indifference among the Vietnamese public and complications brought about by the pandemic.

The 31st Games were originally scheduled for Nov 21-Dec 2 and were postponed in July after Vietnam experienced a surge in Covid-19 cases. No new dates were confirmed then.
