Defending SEA Games netball champion Malaysia sent out a statement of intent to the other teams with a ruthless 112-11 thrashing of the Philippines on Monday at the OCBC Arena.

The Malaysians dominated from start to finish against the Filipino netballers, as the Philippines only managed to score their first goal after 10 minutes into the first quarter.

Goal shooter Norashikin Kamal led the way with 63 goals while goal attacker Azizan Najwa demonstrated outstanding marksmanship by converting 100 per cent of her shots to notch 29 goals.

On Sunday, Malaysia started their campaign with a 84-22 win over Myanmar.

Malaysian coach Aminah Asaari was satisfied with the display and declared Tuesday's crunch match against gold medal favourites Singapore a do-or-die fixture.

She said: "Our first two games were quite easy, tomorrow will be a hard game, it's a must-win for both teams!"
