For the fourth year running, Kenyans dominated proceedings in the full 42.195km distance at the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore on Sunday morning.

Luka Chelimo Kipkemoi took the men’s race in 2hr 14min 59.94sec ahead of Eliud Kaptanui and Mike Mutai, as runners from the African state swept the podium.

Meanwhile, fellow countrywoman Sharon Cherop lived up to her billing as pre-race favourite by coming home in a time of 2:41:11.04, less than a second ahead of Ethiopia’s Debre Godana.

Meanwhile, Anne Qi Hui and SEA Games-bound Mok Ying Ren took the distinction of being Singapore’s fastest female and male marathoners respectively.
