Horse racing: Military Attack captures $3 million SIA Cup

Hong Kong's Military Attack stormed to victory at the $3 million Singapore Airlines International Cup at Kranji Racecourse on Sunday evening.

Jockey Zac Purton and his five-year-old gelding finished a comfortable 3.25 lengths ahead of stable-mate Dan Excel.

Mawingo from Singapore came home in a creditable third, a head adrift in the Republic's biggest horse-racing event.

In the $1 million KrisFlyer International Sprint, Hong Kong gelding Lucky Nine stormed to victory over 1,200m, finishing a comfortable three lengths ahead of favourite Bel Sprinter from Australia.

Singapore's Super Easy - a further head behind - took third spot.
