Hong Kong's Wong Yuen Mei blocking a shot by compatriot Au Yeung Wai Yan in the pool rounds of the Singapore Beach Volleyball National Series at Yio Chu Kang Swimming Complex courts on Saturday.

In yesterday's final of the two-day competition which featured 46 teams, Wong partnered fellow Hong Konger Ng Tin Lai to beat defending champions Yupa Phukrongploy and Kilani Daane, a Thai-Singapore pair, 2-0. Kilani, 16, is an 11th grade student at the Singapore American School. In the men's final, Singaporean duo Mark Shen and Poon Pei Jie lost 0-2 to Indonesia's Charis Septriyanto and Engkos Kosasih.
