SINGAPORE - Singapore Gymnastics (SG) has a new president, with Choy Kah Kin being appointed during the association's annual general meeting at the Singapore Information and Resource Centre at the Singapore Sports Hub on Saturday evening.

The 58-year-old architect succeeds Goh Hwee Cheng and will be assisted by vice-presidents Gan Chai San, Patrick Ho and Edward Low.

Choy had contested for the presidency with outgoing vice-president Lee Hong Chuang, while seven of the 12-strong management committee are new faces.

"It is a learning curve for me," said the former co-head of SG's rhythmic gymnastics sub-committee. "I think Mdm Goh has done and contributed a lot for the sport. The results that we have achieved at the SEA Games speak for itself. She provided leadership and the glue which brought the gymnastics fraternity together to achieve that."

The Republic's gymnasts won one gold, three silvers and four bronzes at the SEA Games last month.
