It was a fruitful day on the Sentosa Golf Club greens yesterday for American star Michelle Wie, as she rolled in eight birdies and shot a six-under-par 66 on the opening day of the HSBC Women's Champions tournament. The 27-year-old world No. 179 leads the US$1.5 million (S$2.11 million) tournament by a single stroke ahead of five players, including world No. 2 Ariya Jutanugarn and 2015 winner Park In Bee. Top-ranked Lydia Ko of New Zealand shot 69 and is joint-12th, one stroke ahead of defending champion Jang Ha Na (tied-21st).
