Golf: Singapore second in Putra Cup, Ong and Foo tie for third in individual competition

SINGAPORE - Singapore have finished second in the Putra Cup team competition.

The trio of Gregory Foo (270), Marc Ong (270) and Joshua Ho (272) totalled 812 to lose the title to defending champions Thailand by five strokes.

Ong (69) and Foo (71) finished in a tie for third in the individual competition, which was won by Thailand's Kosuke Hamamoto (67), whose total stood at 24-under 264.

Ho was tied for fifth after a 71, two strokes behind his team-mates, at the Gading Raya Padang Golf and Club in Jakarta.

Another Thai, Sadom Kaewkanjana, was second on 266 after a 67.

The fourth member of the Singapore team, who won the SEA Games team gold medal just weeks ago, was Joshua Shou, who finished on 284 after a 72.
