Team Dorset Boys won the Standard Chartered Trophy five-a-side futsal tournament on Saturday afternoon, when they defeated Team Gerrard 1-0 at Kovan Sports Centre.

Named after the estate where they grew up and played soccer at, Team Dorset scored in the fourth minute of the match, and held on for a close victory.

They earned themselves an all-expenses-paid trip to Liverpool in May, when they will compete as Singapore's representatives against teams from Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Europe on the famous Anfield ground.

They will also train at Liverpool's Academy at Kirkby, meet Liverpool legends, and watch the Reds' final home game of the 2013/2014 season against Newcastle.

The 40 competing futsal teams from the public were chosen via a Straits Times contest last month. Standard Chartered Bank is the main sponsor of the Liverpool football club.
