With Formula One racing an annual affair in Singapore, organisers Singapore GP have set up its first pop-up merchandise store outside of its Marina Bay Street Circuit.

The Pit Stop @ Orchard, launched on Sept 1, sits on the walkway between Wisma Atria and Takashimaya and features an array of exclusive Singapore GP merchandise.

"We wanted to bring about more awareness of the 2016 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix and Orchard Road was the obvious choice," said Fiona Smith, Singapore GP's director of media and communications.

"Orchard Road is a pivotal touchpoint for us to reach out not only to Singaporeans but also tourists."

Fans can lay their hands on Singapore GP caps from $44. Shirts for men and women range from $49 to $79. Those who are less willing to splurge can also buy smaller accessories such as coasters, keychains and lanyards.

According to Smith, the pop-up store has "launched with great success". A high turnout at this year's Grand Prix could see a return of the store, with the possibility of branching out into the heartlands.

The Pit Stop @ Orchard is open daily from 11am to 9.30pm until Sept 21.
