AS A crestfallen Nico Rosberg looked on from the Mercedes garage, team-mate Lewis Hamilton stormed to victory at the Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday - and into the lead in the drivers' race.
Hamilton claimed the chequered flag ahead of Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo - the first time since the Canada GP in June that the Red Bulls were on the podium together.
The result moved the Englishman three points ahead of Rosberg on the drivers' standings, with five races to go.
The German, who had also conceded the Italian GP a fortnight ago to his arch-rival after an inexplicable cornering error, left the Singapore race on lap 14 with electronic problems.
Quadruple world champion Sebastian Vettel's second spot was his best finish of the season.
