One way or another, it wasn't a great weekend for Mercedes as Silverstone hosted the Formula One 70th Anniversary Grand Prix a week after they had dominated the British Grand Prix.
For a start, they were thrashed by Red Bull for the first time in this season's five races, thanks to a perfect storm of circumstances which enabled the team from Milton Keynes in the United Kingdom not just to turn the tables, but for Max Verstappen to also jump ahead of Valtteri Bottas in the drivers' championship, with 77 points to the Finn's 73.
