Former Conmebol chief admits taking bribes

MONTEVIDEO• Eugenio Figueredo, former head of South America's football body Conmebol, has admitted that he received bribes from television firms in exchange for maintaining media rights.

He returned to his native Uruguay on Thursday after being extradited on corruption charges from Switzerland.

DUBAI • Fifa presidential hopeful Prince Ali Al Hussein has called for the publication of Michael Garcia's report on alleged bribery and corruption during bidding for football's 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
