The S-League's biggest star - Tampines Rovers' Jermaine Pennant - came out to play but unfortunately, the rain would not go away.

And so last night's Warriors FC versus Tampines match was called off with just 12 minutes played and the score at 0-0.

Pennant, an Englishman, joked: "First (match) I come on and then two men get sent off (in their league opener against Geylang International).

"Next, the game (gets called off).

"Well, what's going to happen on Tuesday (in the AFC Cup match against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi)?"

The Warriors-Tampines game will be played at a later date, which will be announced on the league's website (www.sleague.com). Fans are reminded to keep their ticket stubs for re-entry.
