Ilhan at Home with brothers

Ilhan Fandi, the third son of Singapore football legend Fandi Ahmad, has joined Home United's Centre of Excellence (COE) for the upcoming season.

He will play for the COE's Under-15 side. The move also sees the 14-year-old Anglo-Chinese School (Barker Road) student join older brothers Irfan and Ikhsan in the Protectors' set-up.

The talented attacker, named after Turkey's former World Cup striker Ilhan Mansiz, had been training with the Protectors since the turn of the year, impressing with his close control and repertoire of tricks.

He will be coached by former national player Yahya Madon and former Tanjong Pagar midfielder Syed Karim.

The club's chief executive Azrulnizam Shah Sohaimi told The Straits Times: "Ilhan was spotted last year by our technical staff who invited him to join us... He has the potential to develop but like all aspiring talents, he will have to prove his value with hard work, determination and passion."

Striker Irfan, one of Singapore football's brightest prospects, signed for the Bishan club earlier this month. At 18, he is the youngest member of the first team.

Ikhsan, 16, also a forward, joined the team's Prime League squad a few days after Irfan, although he has been training with the first team recently. Both are currently in Thailand with the senior squad for a pre-season training trip.
