LONDON • Rock star and avid Manchester City fan Noel Gallagher correctly predicted the result of Sunday's League Cup final and who would score the winner in the penalty shoot-out.

The former Oasis guitarist was asked just before the kick-off at Wembley for his tip on how the final would pan out and he was eerily spot-on.

"I think it's going to be mega-close," he told an interviewer on a video which did the rounds on the Internet. "But I'm going to say we'll win on penalties."

He was then asked: "Who's going to get the decisive penalty?"

The 48-year-old said: "Yaya (Toure). Roll it in."

The Ivory Coast star duly obliged by putting his penalty past Simon Mignolet in the Liverpool goal for a 3-1 shootout win after the final had finished 1-1 after extra time.
