The second annual Women's Football Day (WFD) was held on Sunday at the Home of Athletics (formerly known as Kallang Practice Track).

The event, organised by the Football Association of Singapore (FAS), was held in conjunction with the International Women's Day and it will signify the start of the 2016 women's football season in Singapore.

The carnival-style event was graced by Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth.

Some 550 girls and women participated in the WFD along with their families and loved ones. There were seven-a-side and five-a-side tournaments, an Under-12 two-a-side Panna Challenge and Family Fun 3s.

Ms Fu took part in the action by participating in an exhibition match between the women's national team and the management of FAS and SportSG.
