Football: Southampton drop Mane for being late

LONDON (AFP) - Southampton's Senegalese winger Sadio Mane was dropped for his side's English Premier League football game at Norwich on Saturday after being late for a team meeting, manager Ronald Koeman revealed.

"He was in the team, but he was too late in the meeting," the Dutchman said in comments published on Southampton's official Twitter account.

"We have rules in the team."

Mane, 23, had played in all 19 of Southampton's previous league games this season, scoring three goals.

An £11.8 million (S$24.7 million) signing from Red Bull Salzburg in September 2014, he impressed during his first season at Southampton, scoring 10 goals in 32 games.
