Football: Singapore's women's team beat Bangladesh 3-0 to record first victory of 2017

SINGAPORE - The national women's football team recorded their first victory of 2017 when they beat Bangladesh 3-0 in the first match of the Women's Development Tournament on Thursday (Feb 16) held at Jalan Besar Stadium.

Raudhah Kamis scored a brace in the eighth and 47th minutes and Joey Cheng scored in the 38th minute for the hosts.

It is the first time the three-nation tournament is organised, and the Lionesses will face Malaysia on Saturday.

Singapore will be using this friendly triangular to prepare for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) women's Asian Cup qualifiers, where they will play their first group D match against Syria on Apr 3.

Singapore lost 0-3 and drew 0-0 to the United Arab Emirates last month in two friendlies the Republic hosted.
