Football: Singapore to host Myanmar in friendly match on Mar 24 at Jalan Besar Stadium

SINGAPORE - The Lions will face Myanmar in an international friendly at the Jalan Besar Stadium on March 24.

The match will serve as preparations for the national team's final World Cup/Asian Cup Group E qualifier against Afghanistan on March 29, which will be held at a neutral venue at the Takhti Stadium in Tehran.

The squad for the friendly match will be announced at a later date.

Singapore are third in Group E with 10 points with three wins, a draw and three defeats. The Republic had lost their last two ties, 1-2 against Syria and 0-3 against Japan, at the National Stadium.

Japan top the group with 16 points, one more than Syria. Both teams have two more fixtures remaining.

Tickets to the Singapore-Myanmar clash start from $4 (concession) and will go on sale at noon on Thursday. They can be purchased online at globaltickets.sg or AXS machines until 4pm on matchday or from 4.30pm onwards at the Jalan Besar Stadium (North Gate).
