Football fans here can start signing up for their Fifa World Cup 2014 viewing packages after SingTel launched the sales on Friday.

The local telco will be offering subscribers a discounted price of $88 ($94.16 after GST) if they sign up for the package before April 17. The regular price of $105 ($112.35 after GST) will come into effect after that.

Customers - including SingTel mio TV subscribers on existing contracts - who sign up for Gold Packs or mio Stadium plus Packs (on 24-month contracts) from today will automatically receive the World Cup channels for free.

The tournament starts on June 12, with host nation Brazil going up against Group A opponents Croatia in the opening game.
