Football: Real's Marcelo signs new deal at Bernabeu

MADRID (AFP) - Brazilian international full-back Marcelo has signed a new contract with Spanish giants Real Madrid that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu until June 2020, the club announced on their website on Friday.

The 27-year-old joined the 10-time European champions from Brazilian club Fluminense in January 2007 at the age of 18 and has scored 23 goals in 320 games for Los Blancos.

Marcelo has won 10 trophies during his spell in the Spanish capital, including one Champions League, three league titles and the Copa del Rey twice.

He scored one of Real's goals in the 4-1 Champions League final win over city rivals Atletico in May 2014 in Lisbon which clinched their most recent European crown.
