SINGAPORE - Home United's Philippe Aw will be relieved of his first-team coaching duties on Sunday (July 31). He will be replaced by former assistant Aidil Sharin.

A post on the S-League football club's Facebook page said Aw will be redeployed as head of youth development and performance management, where he will head the club's Centre of Excellence, kids academy and scouting programmes.

The post did not explain the coaching change. Instead, it said: "HUFC believes that Philippe's appointment within the youth set-up will ensure that this crucial area of the club is led by an individual who is well-versed in youth development and has a good track record at the level."

Aw declined to comment when contacted.

Previously the club's Prime League coach as well as a player for the Protectors, Aw, a former Singapore Police Force regular, took over as first team coach last season. He guided the Protectors to the Singapore Cup final, where they lost 2-1 to Albirex Niigata. The club finished sixth in the S-League that campaign.

The club are currently fourth in the S-League after 16 games, 16 points behind leaders Albirex. Their next match is against Warriors FC on Thursday (Aug 4).
